Unpouched

The receipts

What is your pouch habit actually costing you?

Works for ZYN, Velo, Rogue, On! — any pouch. No sign-up, nothing stored.

$1,071

$21

$89

$10,710

per decade

That's 195 cans a year.

How the math works

Pouches per day ÷ pouches per can × price per can gives your daily spend, then it's multiplied out. A standard can of ZYN holds 15 pouches and runs $5–7 in the US depending on state and shop (£6–7 in the UK). At eight pouches a day (a middling habit, nothing heroic) you're buying a can roughly every two days. The yearly number surprises almost everyone, which is why I built a live version of this counter into the app and made it free.

Prices vary a lot by state, country, and whether you buy singles or rolls, so put in your real price. And the calculator assumes your habit stays flat; most habits creep up over time, so the true decade number is usually worse.

What quitting buys back

The flip side of the scary number: from the day you quit, the same math runs in reverse. A can-a-day quitter is $165 richer in month one, roughly $2,000 richer after a year. That's a flight, a PC, or five months of gym membership — pick the thing you actually want and aim the money at it. Watching the number climb in real time does more for motivation on day 3 of withdrawal than any pep talk.

Watch it come back, live

Unpouched runs this counter continuously from the moment you quit — plus a streak that never resets to zero and a 5-minute craving SOS. The money counter is free, forever.
